Thanks to a brilliant post on the Warrior Forum we got to thinking about the flexibility we have when publishing e-books for Kindle, Nook, etc.  When you publish an e-book and it isn’t selling you can change the title, cover, description, etc.  If something isn’t working then don’t keep doing it.  That is the definition of insanity.

If you have a published e-book then consider making some changes.  Here is what people on the Warrior Forum recommended changing:

• Title
• Cover
• Author Name
• Description
• Keywords
• Categories
• Price

Courtesy of GoodReads (recently acquired by Amazon.com) we have a list of past USA Best Book Award Winners.  If you’ve ever wanted to be on this list read the list of award winners and you’ll get a good idea of what a winning book looks like.  Some of the books on the list include reviews from GoodReads readers.

Some e-book writers have turned to the website Fiverr to obtain digital book covers. Unfortunately a few authors have recently reported that they are getting letters from law firms alleging that their book cover contains copyright protected images.  It makes sense that this might happen because you pay Fiverr $5.00 for the cover so you have to ask yourself if the graphic designer is paying to use the images they select?  If you do want to use Fiverr or other similar sites for your book covers consider purchasing an image to send to the designer to use legally.
